Do you know what the DELE is?

The DELE exam is an internationally recognised official qualification that certifies students' Spanish language skills. Offered by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, it consists of several levels.

Each level assesses specific objectives and skills in comprehension, writing and speaking. The structure of the exam includes: reading, listening and written and oral production tests.

How many levels are there in the DELE?

The DELE offers different levels of proficiency in the Spanish language to assess and certify language proficiency in different areas.

The levels are organised progressively and range from A1 to C2, where A1 represents the most basic level and C2 the most advanced.

Each level is made up of activities and tasks that assess listening, speaking and writing skills in everyday and professional situations.

Students can take the DELE exam at Hispania, escuela de español at all levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

Where is the DELE exam held?

 The DELE exams are held in different examination centres located throughout Spain. These centres are authorised by the Instituto Cervantes and comply with the standards established to guarantee that the exam is carried out properly.

Hispania, escuela de español is an examination centre accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, so our students not only prepare for the exam with us, but also take the exam at our school.

When is the DELE?

We prepare our students for three exams every year: May, July and November. Next exam dates:

- Saturday, 18 May 2024.

- Friday, 12 July 2024.

- Saturday, 23rd November 2024

DELE Exam Preparation Courses

Every year we offer 3 intensive preparation courses for the DELE exams.

These are courses in which we work both on the grammar corresponding to the level for which the students are taking the exam and on the real exam papers in depth in each of the parts of the exams.

The learning pace of this course is very fast and intense. In the lessons, the different linguistic and communicative skills are studied by means of past exam papers and exam simulations.

The DELE exam preparation courses at Hispania, escuela de español can be either 8 weeks or 4 weeks.

We offer 20 hours of classes per week taught by expert DELE teachers who are accredited as examiners for the oral exam. In this way, we guarantee a thorough knowledge of what is needed to pass this test successfully.

In the case of opting for the 8-week course, during the first 4 weeks students study the grammar corresponding to the DELE level for which they are applying. Of course, grammar is not the only subject to be dealt with; from the very first minute of class, students work on training and finding resources for each part of the exam.

In the 4 weeks closest to the exam, the training becomes more intensive and the grammar component is no longer worked on. The classes are focused on mechanising strategies to perform the tests of each part of the exam, to strengthen fluency and correctness of the oral part and to practice writing from the different models of text that are requested at each level.

On-site and on-line courses

These courses can be taken either face-to-face or online. Our DELE preparation course teachers offer digitalised materials and resources so that you can also work from home.

When does the DELE preparation course start?

The preparation course for the DELE exam in May 2024 is currently underway.

And very soon we will be opening registration for the DELE exam preparation course on 12 July 2024.

The starting dates for the preparation course are:

- For the 8-week course: 20 May 2024.

- For the 4-week course: 17 June 2024.

We also offer preparation for the DELE exam on 22 November and the starting dates for the preparation course are:

- For the 8-week course: 30 September 2024.

- For the 4-week course: 28 October 2024.
